Arc Minerals in Kalahari Copperbelt, Botswana

A regional interpretation of the geology of Arc Minerals license area with the two licenses marked in red. Below is a cross section of the geology ( A - A' ) indicating where the nearby deposits have been located.

Here's a slideshow of Arc's region of the KCB which shows the nearby discoveries (in red) and the Cu-Ni anomalies highlighted by the soil geochemical analysis, which are currently being drilled. It's pretty clear that the anomalies are over the boundaries between the formations, where other discoveries have been identified.

Khoemacau are looking to expand the current mine area and one of their priority targets, based on EM survey data and geologic interpretation, is the 'Banana Peel' area. Here is an overlay of their map with Arc Minerals probable drill locations (from satellite images):

You can see that Arc's drilling is an extension of the Banana Peel target area (red dotted line). Our area of interest is mid-way between 'South Dome' and 'Zone 9' targets and you can see drilling assays for those above.

From Khoemacau website:
Zone 9 was drilled over 1.5km strike to 170m below surface. The target was identified as a fold closure adjacent to a basin high. A total of six holes defined the high-grade copper sulphides along the basin shelf. The overall architecture showed intact facies distribution with the basin deepening toward the north-east. Abundant north, north-east trending structures and parasitic folds are seen on the aeromagnetics. Further drilling and follow up is warranted at this prospect to define continuity along strike and depth.”

To be clear, the NNE trending structures would fall within Arcs license area PL135/2017 and toward the buried volcanic dome that Arc has already drilled around.

Update 29/10/2023

The target area that Khoemacau had previously labelled “Banana Peel”, identified by aeromagnetic survey, has now been changed to “Mawana Fold” and is now mentioned as a new discovery, suggesting that drilling has already occurred there. As you can see from the image above, that area is directly adjacent to Arc’s likely drilling area, where we know that mineralisation as been observed on initial drill cores.

A further “new discovery” also borders Arc’s license at Zone 9, as mentioned above.

Update 23/05/2024

A short movie clip showing PL135/2017 with Khoemacau drilling and EM profiles as well as Arc drill locations.

Khoemacau have drilled several holes tracking an EM anomaly identified by aero magnetic surveying and discovered commercially viable thickness and grades of mineralisation running up to the boundary with Arc’s license PL135/2017, Now referred to as discovery at Mawana Fold. Separately they have identified mineralisation on the opposite boundary at ‘Zone 9’ as mentioned above. Arc’s initial drilling was to identify if there is mineralisation at the geological contact, which there is over a distance of at least 2km. They have completed an induced polarisation survey in May 2024 with the aim of identifying the most likely targets for further drilling to see if the Khoemacau discovery continues across PL135/2017. IP survey results expected shortly....

Update 30/05/2024

Highlights

·    The IP Survey has confirmed drilling targets along two distinct trends of high chargeability close to the interpreted redox contact

·    A large, previously unidentified anomaly of high chargeability and low resistivity has been detected at depth

·    The Drilling Programme is being modified to test this previously unidentified IP anomaly

·    As part of the renewal process of the Company's Botswana licences, the Botswanan Department of Mines has accepted the Company's applications to extend the term of its PL135/2017 and PL162/2017 licences. Further updates will be provided as these licence extension applications progress.

Update: 01/06/2024
